ADOPTION FEE & WHAT IT COVERS

KitTea’s adoption fees are as follows and may differ case by case for different cats/kittens:

Single Kitten: $175 - $285
Kittens Bonded Pair: $350 - $570
Single Adult: $175 - $350
Adults Bonded Pair: $200 - $400
Single Senior: $75
Seniors Bonded Pair: $125

Guide:

Kittens are cats under 1 year
Adults are cats anywhere between 1 year and 8 years
Senior cats are anywhere between 9 years and 14 years
Super Seniors are 15 years and so on...
Cats that have required more extensive medical care or treatment may have a higher adoption fee to help cover these costs

All of our cats have already been:

Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)

If you adopt a kitten, depending on the kitten’s age, the FVRCP vaccine series may or may not be complete (as kitten vaccines are given 3–4 weeks apart up until the age of 14 weeks). If the vaccine series is not yet complete at the time of adoption, it will be the adopter’s responsibility to complete the series.

Our adoption fees do not cover the average cost of our rescues. We always provide any necessary medical care for the cats and kittens we take in, such as surgery for injuries or congenital problems, x-rays, blood panels, fecal tests, and treatment for upper respiratory infections and viruses. Donations above and beyond the adoption fee are greatly appreciated and help us continue to rescue the cats and kittens most in need.

Once you’ve adopted a new pet into your family, all veterinary expenses are your responsibility for the life of your pet.

Our Adoption Process

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from KitTea Cat Lounge. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary.

Our Return Policy

If for any reason you wish or need to return a cat you’ve adopted from us, you can do so within one week for a full refund of the adoption fee. Note that it is stated in our Adoption Agreement that you must contact us if you are no longer able to care for/keep your cat and we will accept/process the cat back into KitTea with no questions.

We never want to see our kitties back at the shelter or on the streets.

A Lifetime Commitment

Animals are for life. When you adopt an animal, it is a commitment you make to the animal, for the lifetime of that animal. We’re always here to answer questions and help solve problems. By adopting a cat or kitten from KitTea Cat Lounge, you’re making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the animal, which can be up to 20 years. Adopting a cat is a serious commitment, but one that is incredibly rewarding.
